[RESOLVED] SSL Certificate on sayleshill.xyz

The SSL certificate for sayleshill.xyz has expired and is being refreshed. This should have happened automatically in the background a few days ago, but for one reason or another, it didn’t. Sorry about that!

DreamHost support is working on resolving the issue and I’ll update this post once I have more details.

Clients polling JSON feeds will encounter errors over HTTPS, and may not be able to poll over HTTP. Use the last available version if you have one, as data have not changed recently.

Update 2017-01-30: The issue has been resolved!

PPS discontinued until further notice

PPS has been discontinued until further notice.

I hate having to do this, but unfortunately the technical issues that I mentioned previously have made it practically impossible to continually update the site with current printer data. The data still exist, but updating the site on a regular basis is not easily doable with the current set of tools that I have access to. (Believe me, I’ve tried lots of different options, and they’re unreliable at best.)

In a few days, sayleshill.xyz/printers will redirect you to the Carleton ITS printer status page, which requires a Carleton login. It’s nowhere near as pretty as what PPS was, but it will at least give you lots of information about the printers and what they’re up to.

I’ll continue looking into solutions to bring PPS back to life, but for now it will be discontinued.

As always, thank you for your continued support and use of the site!
